Rangemaster
As a California P.O.S.T. Certified rangemaster, Ian McKnight is available to provide rangemaster services to any California Law Enforcement Agency. His extensive training and experience makes him an excellent resource to develop flexibiility in your firearms and tactics training programs based upon realistic field applications.
For the past ten years, he has served the Morro Bay Police Department as the armorer/rangemaster and firearms instructor, and has been responsible for developing and conducting firearms and weapons training and qualificaton standards for its officers.
In addition to his position with the Morro Bay Police Department, Ian assists with range training for the San Luis Obispo County Regional Swat Team, and is now on staff with the Alan Hancock College Law Enforcement Academy as a rangemaster, instructor and armorer.
Rangemaster training offered by Advantage Personal Defense and Tactics includes:
- Tactical Firearms (includes optional scenario based live fire)
- Force on Force
- Simunitions
- Range Safety and Operations
As an added benefit to your agency, Ian is one of the few authorized rangemasters who can provide HR 218 Concealed Carry programs for retired law enforcement officers (L.E.O.S.A.). Currently there is no charge for this service.
Additionally, Ian is a NRA Certified Chief Range Safety Officer and is authorized to train Range Safety Officers, following NRA guidelines.
