Yes! We welcome your consideration for membership in the Knights of Columbus, Council #5175 in Morro Bay. This Mens' Fraternity is very involved with the local parishes and community. Together, as a body of men, we provide fellowship and support for the parish seniors and needy, organize fund raisers fr a number of Knights of Columbus charities and support the respective Pastors and staff of Saint Joseph, Saint Timothy, and Elizabeth Ann Seton Parishes.

History:

Father Michael J. McGivney, a 29 year old curate of Saint Mary's Church in New Haven Connecticut, founded the Knight sof Columbus. Since that day in 1882, the Knights of Columbus has become the largest body of Catholic laymen in the world. The fraternity has grown to 13,000 councils and 1.7 million members throughout the world.

Our Lady of Good Counsel, #5175, was instituted in Morro Bay in August of 1961.

Council Activities:

• Support for CCD Religous Education.
• Reigous Vocation - Seminarian support of Monterey Diocese.
• Eucharistic Minister and Lectors in the Liturgy.
• Annual fund raiser for Intellectually Disabled and Handicapped Youth.
• Scholarships for children attending Parochial Schools in SLO County.
• Respect for Life - ALPHA Foundation.
• Preparation and hosting of periodic Diocesan Priest dinners.
• Support for SLO County foodbank and homeless shelter.
• Support for Parish Round Table, and Parish Activities
• Support for Parish Fund Raisers and Parish Fellowship.
• Special Olympics Coaching and Support.
• Support of local youth programs.
• Youth Basketball Free Throw Contest.
• Community Groups (Police Volunteer, Civil Air Patrol, Fireman's Muster.
• Knights of Coulmbus Wheelchair Foundation and other Knights of Columbus Charities.
